It is not a secret that the Indian startup ecosystem is one of the fastest-growing, diverse, and exciting spaces to be in. This ecosystem is being bankrolled by some of the largest venture capitalists in the world, who just want to keep on throwing money and are just looking to build the next industry giant in the world’s largest, untapped market.

But as it happens, it is mostly the top few startup investments that make the finance and economics page of your generic finance newspaper. It is only us, the industry insiders, spending an unhealthy time on startup-focused publications and networks to understand the trend and make a play before any other vulture/ venture capitalist can beat us to the line. Make no mistake, while we agreed to play a fair game in our previous life of finance or consulting (well most of us), the VC space is not so forgiving or fair. There might be honor among thieves, but definitely not between us VCs.
